Threshold of night

As yesterday's thunderstorm hit, I happened to be on a kaito ferry in remotest Sai Kung.
I was privileged to see nature in action as I had never seen it before.

Ko Lau Wan before the night
No-man's land
Clouds boil
water reaches for water
the first rain bands lash in
What followed was the most terrifying ferry ride of my life and surely the closest I have ever been to a lightning strike (in the sea a few metres away)! A humbling experience.

I also caught the edge of our recent typhoon (from dry land) - here ...

Where was Li's force field when I needed it?

    1. I think so... I wonder what would happen if a boat was struck by lightning. I made sure I stayed firmly on a wooden bench the whole time...

    1. Thanks! I also like the 4th one, sort of looks like waterspouts forming (which can occasionally happen in Hong Kong, apparently --> http://www.weather.gov.hk/press/D4/pre20100727e.htm )
