Scaffolding superheroes

I've been spying on the bamboo scaffolding men. The guys in these photos are all 15-18 floors above the ground.

They are fully kitted out with essential protective gear, e.g. gloves...

...sunhats...

...and, er, safety harnesses?

Pah! Pull the other one!

Fiddling on the roof.

  1. Those men are amazing -- but, all the same, I wish they WOULD have more safety gear on them!

    1. Yeah. I guess safety harnesses would slow them down. They are so agile. Though I wouldn't trust my life on the three rusty brackets the third guy is effectively sitting on.

  2. I worked in a Wan Chai high rise office building (The Malaysia Building, across the road from Hong Kong Telecom) in the 1980s. Every time a scaffolding worker surprised me by suddenly appearing mere inches from me - I sat next to the window - I would either scream or visibly jump. This amused my colleagues to no end.

    1. Same thing happened to me at my yoga studio. Slightly offputting to be in an awkward shoulder stand or something and have a worker clamber past the window.
